Golfing in South-West Ireland - Ballybunion

Rated among the top ten in the world. Ballybunion is a relatively short course, but what it lacks in length it makes up for in subtlety. The greens are hard to hold and the professionals find that if they miss a green it is much more difficult to get down in a chip and a putt.
Tom Watson was more responsible than anybody else for putting Ballybunion on the international golfing map.

Ballybunion boasts two separate courses. The old course (par 71, 6,542 yds.) and the new course ( par 72, 7,678 yds.) which was created by golf architect Robert Trent Jones.
